Melissa McCormack

As far back as she can remember Melissa has been interested in organized sports and athletics. She was a competitive dancer for 12 years and played varsity softball all four years in high school. Melissa attended Eastern Connecticut State University where she earned her BS in child and youth psychology and a CT teaching certification in early childhood education. During her 4 years at ECSU, she participated in many intra mural sports including volleyball, floor hockey, and co-ed softball. After college, she earned her MA in elementary education from Southern Connecticut State University and is currently employed as a kindergarten teacher in Clinton. Melissa continued her active lifestyle by becoming a certified Les Mills BodyCombat instructor. She loves teaching bootcamp, boxing and HIIT classes. Melissa has recently taken up running. She has completed 2 half marathons and will be running her third in September. Melissa completed her first Ragnar relay race along the Cape in 2014. She enjoyed this experience so much that she went back for more and completed the Ragnar Trial New England Race in 2015. In 2012, she completed her first OCR at the Mount Snow Tough Mudder and recently completed her first triathlon in September 2014. Melissa’s classes are intense and high energy with lots of motivation and support.

Lisa’s love and passion for helping individuals feel their best radiates during every spin class, boot camp, yoga or individual training session. Lisa is a graduate of Lyme-Old Lyme High School and was an All-State soccer player as well part of the Saint Michael’s College varsity soccer team. Being an athlete her whole life has heightened her love for health and wellness as well as what is best for the body outside of the gym. Lisa is an Advisor in AdvoCare, a world class nutrition company that specializes in innovative nutritional, weight-management, and sports performance products. “Most people have NO idea how good their body is designed to feel”. Lisa stays fit by lifting, spin class, boot camp, yoga, running and hiking. She is always ready for adventure so plan your next hike with her today!
Iron Body will get you leaned, toned, and fit fast! Our instructors will use a scientifically proven system of moves and techniques using light to moderate weights. This head to toe workout will help you build lean muscle and burn fat long after the workout is over.
